Last week we read a story called: A Poppy Is to Remember. This book taught us about what Remembrance Day is about and we learned about the poet who wrote the famous poem "In Flanders' Fields." Next, we brainstormed some symbols or pictures that represent Remembrance Day. The students thought of great symbols, such as: poppies soldiers flowers hearts rainbows Canada Flag I know Remembrance Day isn't for a few weeks, but I wanted to make sure these made their way to our soldiers prior to Remembrance Day. Then, the Kinders created beautiful postcards to send to a Canadian Armed Forces Member currently serving overseas. The postcards are being mailed within a couple days. They are so heartwarming to read. I'm sure the soldiers will absolutely love receiving these from our Kinder class.
